Good vibes seem to follow Lil Skies everywhere he goes. Meeting up with us at his former Los Angeles home (which is coincidentally owned by one of OGM’s founders), Skies remained humble, focused and grateful for all he’s accomplished after nearly a decade in the spotlight.
With this in mind, the 25-year-old SoundCloud era icon is in the midst of a revitalization both personally and artistically — centered around the love and support of his family. “Me having my own family, I always wanted to have that,” he tells OGM host Hakeem Rowe in their conversation. “I pride myself on it.”
Despite classic efforts like his mammoth debut album, Life Of A Dark Rose, “Red Roses” and “Nowadays,” among countless others, being the driver for Skies’ ceaseless relevance, his next era engulfs the ‘WORLD RAGE’ he looks to encapsulate on tour this Fall. Announcing the tour just days before we spoke with him, Skies details how he feels reinspired and “dreaming” of the future again, as his forthcoming headlining trek sets the stage for a resurgence for the Pennsylvania-born GOAT. While past full-length records like UNBOTHERED (2021) and Shelby (2019) have been hallmarks in his discography, a sequel to Life Of A Dark Rose seems to rattle around Skies’ head… nowadays.
Skies’ name is also etched alongside the success of Lyrical Lemonade and Cole Bennett, as Skies divulges on his relationships with Cole and Landon Cube — his brother and the rockstar of “Red Roses” — amid other stories, like how much he’s loved “doing real dad shit” with his son, watching him grow up and taking him to the studio for the very first time. Not only thankful for the loved ones that surround him, but Skies continues to be forever indebted to the fans that have supported him from the jump. Be sure to catch him when WORLD RAGE ensues.
