2022’s festival season has been one to remember with the legendary performances from Coachella, followed up by a hip-hop fan’s dream lineup for this year’s Smoker’s Club.
OGM’s own Hakeem Rowe brandished his brand-new OGM chain as he hung out backstage with some of our favorite artists, catching up and getting the scoop on their success, performances and upcoming releases.
Starting off with a performance Opium artist Ken Car$on, Hakeem linked with a suited-up Cochise and Ken’s label mate Destroy Lonely to turn up backstage to “Rock-N-Roll.”
After Cochise left to prepare for his set, Hakeem spotted SoundCloud OG Lucki, praising him for his discography before running into Ken Car$on himself. We may see Hakeem behind-the-scenes of Lucki’s next video, as Lucki used his break during the festival to snag some new footage.
Smooky Margielaa was next up to talk to Keem, speaking on his experience going to Africa and gaining more appreciation for his success. Homixide Gang made an appearance next, with both Beno! and Meechie speaking on their deal with Carti.
After Carti’s set was cut early due to a broken barrier, Ab-Soul showed up to impart some wisdom despite a hectic setting. Meechy Darko, Pi’erre Bourne, SoFaygo and more caught Hakeem throughout the day before Hakeem finished out his day for some Raising Cane’s.
Catch some of these acts and others as the festivals continue to roll in, bringing out a lot of our favorite artists for the first time since the pandemic.
