Isaiah Rashad keeps it chill with new single ‘Wat U Sed’

Kal Banx and Doechii join Isaiah Rashad for third single off his upcoming album.

Isaiah Rashad dropped “Wat U Sed” featuring Kal Banx and Doechii, or Iamdoechii which she also goes by, on July 23. The song is Rashad’s third single ahead of his album The House Is Burning, set to drop next week on July 30.

After releasing the first two singles “Lay Wit Ya (feat. Duke Deuce)” and “Headshots (4r Da Locals),” Zay was seen last week filming a music video for an unnamed song. He posted pictures on set, which featured Banx and Doechii, as well as Lizzo and fellow TDE artists Jay Rock and REASON. The video evidently was for the new track “Wat U Sed.”

Hours after the listening party for The House Is Burning was held Thursday (July 22), Isaiah Rashad dropped the song and visuals.

“Wat U Sed” is barely under three minutes long, and cultivates a mellow atmosphere compared to the album’s first two singles. Kal Banx typically provides production to tracks for TDE artists like SiR, as well as songs for Baby Keem, Jorja Smith, IDK as well as being featured on Dreamville‘s 2019 collaborative tape. On this track however, he offers a calm refrain to sandwich rising female rapper Doechii’s lengthy, show-stopping verse.

Rashad’s performance fills up the first half of the track, as his hook and verse smoothly set the stage for Doechii’s standout feature as she raps bars like:

Lookin’ back when it spazz with your curls and your ass out

Bad like a girl from the ave, goin’ anti

Keep it bad, pop a tag, go and let it air out

Drop it fast, let it spazz, go and let your hair down

“Wat U Sed” — Isaiah Rashad featuring Doechii & Kal Banx

Isaiah’s laid-back aura on the track is complemented by Kal Banx’s faded refrain and Doechii’s soft, but lovely voice. All three singles ahead of the new album have Rashad with a great foot forward, building excitement for the record. While we wait until July 30 for it to drop, check out Isaiah Rashad’s new single “Wat U Sed” below.
