Atlanta singer ABRA is back to focusing on her career after a four-year hiatus with her new single “Unlock It”.
After appearing on Bad Bunny’s album last year — in addition to sporadic features since 2017 — her fan base has been patiently waiting for a solo release from the Awful Records’ singer.
When ABRA previewed the song on her TikTok in late July, the fan response was overwhelming. Three weeks later, the song officially released on all streaming platforms with additional vocals from Playboi Carti. Carti joins his former label mate with his voice dripped in autotune and spitting one of his quicker flows to date.
EDM producer Boys Noize handles production, creating a sample-heavy instrumental with groovy melodies and a dial-tone effects. With all the hype around the song due to its TikTok debut, ABRA will hopefully be capitalizing on her newfound popularity with more releases in the near future.
