Ever since Cochise‘s breakout album Benbow Crescent in May 2021 — which saw him embrace his Caribbean roots and define his squeaky-voiced, choppy-flow sound — the Florida rapper has been inserting never-before-seen creativity and energy like no other.
Whether it be his smash hit “Tell Em” with $NOT that took over last summer, his equally compelling August cut “POCKET ROCKET” or his March holdover “DO IT AGAIN,” Cochise seemed to be improving with each new track he released.
Making an even bolder statement and pushing his artistry further, the squeaky-voiced Floridian has released his new studio album THE INSPECTION on Friday at midnight (June 24). Its track list consists of its two lead singles, “Do It Again” and “Turn It Up” as well as marquee artists like Chief Keef, Young Nudy and others.
His previous single “Turn It Up” became an instant highlight upon its release last week (June 10). Produced by Ransom (who is responsible for recent hits like DC The Don’s “Arrest Me”), the track dropped alongside its equally stunning visual. Donning his patented neck tie and trench coat, “Mr. Professor” (aka Cochise) plays around with some of his superpowers during a dark night in the city.
The track itself is split in two halves. In the first section, Cochise’s repetitive “turn it up” hook — a common trait in most of his songs — introduces a long-winded verse, while the second half follows the same structure with its “yeah for real” refrain ushering in another lengthy verse where Cochise “puts the work in the attic” and explains how “these n****s ain’t mess with us.”

THE INSPECTION comes off the heels of Cochise’s placement on the 2022 XXL Freshmen class, as his star continues to ascend among the tastemakers of hip-hop’s mainstream. Chise later announced his global “The Inspection Tour” that’s set to kick off Oct. 5 in Denver, Colorado and will last until Dec. 10. Cochise is also preparing to make a slew of off festival appearances this summer, checking Lollapalooza, ILESONIQ and more on his itinerary.
After a lengthy, yet explosive rollout full of skits and savory singles, Cochise has “Finally” brought the energy summer 2022 needed.
