The double single, which spans barely four minutes long, sees the STILL PRETTY emcee effortlessly glide over bombastic 808s and airy melodies — fashioned by Eem himself (“YEAH YEAH”) and Beach Noise (“ALLOCATE”). Stunting deep pockets and the opps that constantly catch his fade, Triplin’s ability to craft irresistible, dancey rap cuts make you want to roll down your windows in the wintertime — blaring these tracks at full blast. “The opp won’t last cause he hatin’,” he tears off on “YEAH YEAH,” whipping his Mercedes and buying his lady Birkin among other flexes.
If his debut EP, STILL PRETTY, in July wasn’t enough evidence of his unique direction, the quirky, quick-cut visual for “WHAT DA OPP SAID” is further proof of Eem Triplin’s unbound creativity. In addition to these new drops, Triplin is set to hit the road for his first-ever headlining tour in support of the EP later this month. Kicking off on Nov. 11 in Philadelphia, the 21-date trek will run until Dec. 20, visiting cities such as Los Angeles, Denver, Chicago, Boston, Toronto, New York, Dallas and more.
