KA$HDAMI, Xlovclo feed the DMV on their new offering ‘Famine’

KA$HDAMI is certainly one of the frontrunners rising out of the rekindled Soundcloud underground — and hot on his heels is electric DMV newcomer Xlovclo.

While Dami has positioned himself as a rising force to be reckoned with — off the back of tracks such as “posed2be,” “Phoneix” and his 2021 album hypernova the two emerging powerhouses joined forces for Clo’s first big collaborarion “Famine,” feeding the appetite for her ravenously growing fan base in the process. This is Dami’s third single in his recent string of releases, continuously alluding to an album in the near future.

The smooth pluggnb production (prod. by teenslug) sets a laid-back tone for Dami to jump in with a catchy hook — juxtaposing his gentle, melodic delivery with some unexpectedly harsh bars about sliding on busters. Xlovclo’s unique tone and unusually soulful style feels like a breath of fresh air as she’s perfectly in tune with the underground’s current sound — elevating it with an R&B twist and a rare female perspective. In short, Clo completely holds her own with the already well-established KA$HDAMI.

The video for “Famine” — directed by another DMV-staple in KarlwithaK — shows her being fully embraced by the DMV as she’s introduced to regional legends like Mikey Polo and takes a tour of the local chicken spot, BNB and skating rink.

Major props to KA$HDAMI for recognizing Xlovclo’s blossoming star power and being the first well-established artist to land a soon-to-be-sought-after feature. With her first big collab with a bonafide Soundcloud star already under her belt — and some mindblowing co-signs from two of the biggest stars on the planet in Doja Cat and Lil Nas X on the back of her viral hit, “WTF” — the one-of-a-kind Xlovclo is already looking like the next big thing out the DMV.
