Florida rapper continues upward trend with new single.
$NOT created a great deal of momentum for himself after his second studio album Beautiful Havoc in October. With features such as iann dior, Denzel Curry and Flo Milli, $NOT’s laid-back, nonchalant but menacing demeanor established himself as a name to look for in the rap scene.
Since 2021 began, he’s been a part of two collaborative tracks. First, he linked up with Internet Money and Lil Skies in April for the track “Whipski,” where his addicting hook and Skies’ energy meshed together gracefully.
In May, $NOT and fellow Floridian Cochise dropped “Tell Em,” an upbeat banger where Cochise gets the listener’s blood flowing with his repetitive “tell ’em ‘what’s up?’ tell ’em it’s on” first verse, and $NOT’s grand entrance into a strong flow backends the track.
At the beginning of the month of May, $NOT took to Twitter to tease upcoming single “Red,” along with its music video.

He posted on Instagram the same day that “Red” would be dropping on July 2nd. The snippet sounded as though the track would pack more of a punch atmosphere-wise compared to other $NOT music.
Sticking to his word, $NOT released “Red” at midnight, July 2nd. Via Instagram story, he explained, “It’s a song to vibe to. It’s a very unorthodox, eccentric $NOT song. Don’t worry about the lyrics cause their ain’t nothing to them. It’s like drinking a McDonald’s sprite with all red starbursts.”
For those unfamiliar, McDonald’s Sprite has a stigma that it hits different than traditional Sprite, with more ferocity. $NOT is correct in this assertion, as he floats over the bouncy instrumental laced with claps.
“Red” is another song that continues to raise $NOT’s stock as he surges in the rap game. He has been posting and deleting several snippets with high profile rappers like Joey Bada$$, Ski Mask the Slump God, BROCKHAMPTON lead man Kevin Abstract, Trippie Redd and others, so expect him to continue to ride this wave for the foreseeable future.
