In recent years, Detroit has become a blossoming hip-hop hub for many of the game’s rising emcee. As opposed to its prior reputation as solely being home to artists like Eminem and Big Sean, its new batch of elite talent in BabyTron, 42 Dugg, Babyface Ray, Icewear Vezzo and more have redefined the Detroit’s sound for the better. However, Tee Grizzley has still commanded the most attention since his blow up in 2016 with “First Day Out.”
Now, several projects and hits later, Tee Grizzley is back in action, putting out his first project since his May 2021 album Built For Whatever, which housed features from Big Sean, King Von, Quavo, YNW Melly, Lil Durk and many others.

His new mixtape Half Tee Half Beast, released on April 15, contains 17 songs and spans 45 minutes. Unlike his previous project, Half Tee Half Beast sparingly contains feature guests, with only Lakeyah and Baby Grizzley complementing Tee on the album. All three of Tee’s promotional singles released in 2022 landed on the tape, including “Afterlife” from January, “Beat The Streets” dropped in March and his April Fool’s release “Buss It All Down.”
Simultaneously, Tee Grizzley shared the visual for the fourth song “Robbery Part 3,” which adds to the series that began with WorldstarHipHop exclusive single “Robbery” in 2020 and continued with “Robbery Part Two” in February 2021.
With an elite storytelling ability and ferocious energy, Tee Grizzley’s return is certainly a welcomed one.
