Yeat and DotCom Nirvan drop a pair of music videos for YEAT’s latest full-length release ‘Up 2 Më’.’ Watch “TURBAN” and “Ya Ya” below!
YEAT has quickly emerged as one of the most tantalizing artists in the underground scene.
Racking up over a half-a-million monthly listeners on Spotify — and recently co-signed by Drake — he continues to skyrocket off the back of hits in “Tonka 2,” “Gët Busy” and “Sorry Bout That.”
However, his sound is what separates him from the rest — dripping in new wave distortion and rage-inspired melodies that hypnotize listeners on first play. The 21-year-old Portland-based rapper just released his third project of 2021 in “Up 2 Më” — a 22-track mosaic embodying his eclectic and energetic sound.
Performing songs off the album in mid-August at RARE HOUSE in Los Angeles, OGM captured Twizzy Rich’s energy in full force, as YEAT is fully prepared to take over as one of the new wave’s brightest stars.
Linking up with DotCom Nirvan — who’s 2021 catalog is staggering in its own right — in his latest music video for “TURBAN,” Nirvan continues his hot streak of visuals this summer. Also directing YEAT’s visual to “Ya Ya” last weekend, it’s no surprise that his knack for sugary, auto-tuned verses has allowed him to flourish over the last two years.
His previous full-length effort, 4L, fully immerses listeners into his unique style — embodying the new wave’s signature, rowdy sound as “Ya Ya” and “TURBAN” may be YEAT’s most catchy tracks yet. While his August EP, Trëndi, is still fresh in rotation, Up 2 Më is set to shoot YEAT to the top sooner than you think.
With Nirvan’s colorful edits and quick-cut direction, he’s been able to impact the underground in a way that asserts the seriousness of the craft. As YEAT continues to climb the ranks of the genre, look out for the Portland-based star to heave more projects our way as he effortlessly takes the scene by storm.
