A$AP Rocky will be giving his perspective on his infamous Stockholm arrest in a documentary titled “Stockholm Sydrome” premiering June 13.
The film, directed by The Architects, features many high-profile interviews, concert footage and even some animated portions to recreate Rocky’s climb to success and how the altercation in Sweden affected him — both personally and in his career.
Slated to premiere as part of the Tribeca Film Festival’s Juneteenth programming, viewers can expect in-depth, behind-the-scenes coverage of Rocky’s career leading up to and following the events of 2019.
Rocky’s incarceration was a hot topic of discussion two summers ago, with multiple celebrities coming to the Harlem rapper’s aid as he was clearly going through one of the most controversial points of his career. At the time, Kanye had enlisted the help of President Trump, who made public statements regarding the effort to get Rocky back home. A$AP Ferg, Tyler, the Creator, Kim Kardashian and Naomi Campbell are a few of the additional public figures who will be giving their own opinions in the film.
If you have been a long time fan of Flacko, you know that he is always making multiple moves at once. Not even a day after fans received the news of the aforementioned film, Rocky took to Instagram to drop an advertisement for Klarna — an online shopping app that he has recently become an investor in.
The ad — featuring a cameo from his long-time collaborator and friend Skepta — also previews some new music. Rocky has also been slated for multiple music festivals and events following the end of pandemic restrictions, leading fans to theorize that we may be getting another album in the near future.
