Since their emergence in early 2020 with their debut project Halfway Off the Porch and its hits “Memphis” and “Hngover,” Avant Garde Club, better known as AG Club, has been on a tear, mostly thanks to their two frontmen Jody Fontaine and Baby Boy.
Following a 2021 that saw them dominate April with back-to-back additions to their two-part F**k Your Expectations album series, which included the “Memphis” remix with NLE Choppa and A$AP Ferg, the unconventional Northern California duo stormed into 2022. With fiery releases like January’s “Mr. Put It On,” May’s “TRU RELIGION” and, most recently, their summer single and music video “Kevin,” fans of AG Club knew a groundbreaking project was right around the corner.
Then, at long last, on Sept. 16, they delivered. Releasing their new studio album Imposter Syndrome, AG Club brings forth an impressive track list, including their three pre-released singles from earlier this year and multiple sensational features.

Blown away. A must-add to your weekend roto. âTattoo,â âBodega Bandit,â âDonât Ask, Donât Tellâ are instant highlights. @redveil, @RevolutionNak and more also turn in impressive verses. The duo prove they arenât imposters whatsoever. #OGM pic.twitter.com/6WsQQVWSON
Among these guests, Sam Truth and redveil, who AG Club worked with prior on FYE PT. 1‘s “TRUTH,” appear on the seventh track “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” which brought with it the album’s fourth music video after the promotional singles.
Ahead of the LP’s release, the group referred to the dictionary definition of Imposter Syndrome to assert how difficult of a concept success is to grasp, especially when acknowledging all the talented people that encounter. But, this new album sees them rise above their insecurities, and once again demonstrate why AG Club is one of the premier rap groups in the business.
