Jay Z, Jadakiss, Conway The Machine, and BackRoad Gee are joining forces for a new single off the soundtrack to Netflix’s upcoming film The Harder They Fall.
Set to connect on “King Kong Riddim,” its lyrical prowess is sure to bring in high praise despite its place within a soundtrack. Previous blockbusters in Black Panther and Into The Spiderverse shattered expectations with their respective soundtracks — gifting listeners hits such as “King’s Dead” and “Sunflower.” As hip-hop continues to become a prominent presence in cinema, Jay-Z is curating something far greater than just an album or a film — but an experience altogether.
Executive produced by Jay himself, the film features a stellar cast that includes Regina King, Idris Elba, Delroy Lindo and Lakeith Stanfield, among other stars. THTF’s director, Jeymes Samuel, previously worked with Hov on his short film, Legacy, for his 2017 masterpiece, 4:44.
Since Griselda counterparts in Westside Gunn and Benny The Butcher inked a joint partnership with Roc Nation in 2019, Conway has been pretty close to Jay throughout their ascension from the underground. As Conway continues to prep the release of his Shady Records debut, God Don’t Make Mistakes, a track with the “GOAT” is all he needs to garner more hype.
Fans also have another Jay-Z song to look forward to on The Harder They Fall. The iconic New York rapper is reuniting with Kid Cudi after nearly ten years. Parts of Cudi and Hov’s verse can be heard in the official trailer and it sounds like another classic in the making. The song titled “My Guns Go Bang” will also be featured on the soundtrack.
The Harder They Fall drops on Netflix on Nov 3.
