While Freddie Gibbs is gearing up for the release of his highly-anticipated album SSS, he’s also preparing for his first on-screen television role. On Wednesday (March 2), Gibbs gave fans the first look at his character from the new Peacock comedy Bust Down streaming March 10.
The comedy series centers around four friends (Sam Jay, Chris Redd, Langston Kerman, and Jak Knight) working at the Diamondback Casino in Gary, Indiana who inadvertently end up on the wrong side of several casino bosses. In the short 30-second teaser, Gibbs appears for just a brief moment as what appears to be one of those bosses. Freddie has always been known as a comedic character and has ventured into comedy before like on adult swim’s Loiter Squad but this will be his breakthrough on a fully scripted show.
Freddie’s feature film debut, Down With The King, is also scheduled to release later this year — at a still unknown date. However, early reviews have said he shines in the role and the film itself has been getting quite the buzz. Hopefully, fans could see for themselves just how well he transitions from rapper to actor whenever it drops.
As for now, Gibbs will be on Peacock’s Bust Down starting next week, March 10
