Right as they drop their highly-anticipated debut album as Silk Sonic, dynamic duo Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars already have suitors for another collab project.
Wu-Tang Clan’s Ghostface Killah wants to link up with the R&B stars to make their own album together. The request comes a few months after Ghostface unofficially remixed the duo’s hit lead single “Leave the Door Open.”
The legendary rapper has typically diversified his production choices throughout his storied career. From the old school boom-bap found on 36 Chambers to his collaboration with jazz group BADBADNOTGOOD on Sour Soul, he’s never sounded out of place and can flow over any type of beat a producer throws at him.
His love of Silk Sonic’s sound could be found on his 2009 album Ghostdini: Wizard of Poetry in Emerald City where he primarily raps over smoother, R&B production. It shows that a match like this can work to an amazing degree.
Ghostface Killah’s ‘Supreme Clientele 2’ will be executive produced by Kanye West, Mike Dean
A collaboration between the two would surely be something to keep an eye out for in the near future. Silk Sonic’s star is only going up and Ghost could bring in the lyrical hip-hop crowd to bridge both of their audiences together. Until then, fans are still unpacking Silk Sonic’s debut and patiently awaiting the long-awaited Supreme Clientele 2 from Ghostface Killah.
