GRIP has been patiently waiting for his time to shine — and from the looks of it — that time should come sooner rather than later.
The Shady Records signee stopped by Ebro’s Rap Life Radio to discuss his new album and the events leading up to its release. I Died For This!?, GRIP’s third full-length album, features collaborations with Eminem, Royce Da 5’9”, Kenny Mason and more. This marks his first release under the Shady imprint, linking up with the coveted Marshall Mathers on “Walkthrough!”
The Atlanta-based emcee uses quick flows and intricate bars to keep up with legends like Bad Meets Evil, spitting lyrical verses over aggressive beats. According to his interview with Ebro, GRIP’s first request from Eminem was a verse on his album — a testament to his appreciation of those who came before him.
He also discussed his relationship with Atlanta legend Big Rube and how their collaboration “ENEM3?” came together.
If there is any artist who deserves more shine given to them, GRIP is at the forefront, poised with with the ability to bring the out the best in his collaborators as well as body each of his solo performances.
