Gunna delivers a Valentine’s Day special with new single ‘Banking On Me,’ ‘You & Me’ visual

Saying Gunna’s year has been just “successful” would be an absolute understatement.

It’s been over a month since he released the culture-shifting DRIP SEASON 4EVER, and since then, he’s outsold The Weeknd’s Dawn FM, debuted at No. 1 on Billboard, has the world screaming “Pushin P” and has ceased to dominate streaming charts week in and week out.

As DS4EVER continues to wage through playlists all over the world, Gunna decided to show a softer side to his sound, delivering a smooth Valentine’s Day track titled “Banking On Me.”

“Banking On Me” initially debuted on the deluxe version of DS4EVER but was quickly removed from streaming platforms for unknown reasons. However, that wouldn’t stop fans from getting a hold of the track and endlessly streaming it. The song would eventually surface on SoundCloud, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, and even go viral on the social media powerhouse, TikTok — leaving Gunna with no choice but to re-release it.

The song’s smooth piano-styled instrumental — courtesy of production legend, Metro Boomin — is perfect for any Valentine’s Day festivities. The YSL star takes full control of the track by showcasing his beloved flow with his unique, cadence-shifting vocals and wavy, oscillating hooks. Throughout the track, Gunna peacefully raps about his girl’s flawless qualities that make him so infatuated with her.

I don’t wanna get tired of you (Huh)

I’m in the box and we way at the top and we got us a ocean view (Got us a ocean view)

I know I got it, I’m all in her body

And nobody got a clue (Nobody got a clue)

Gunna – “Banking On Me”

Along with the Valentine’s Day track, Gunna certainly felt the love from pop sensation Chloe Bailey — who appears alongside Gunna in the visual to DS4EVER’s “You & Me.” The pair have been reported to be a couple for weeks now, since Gunna divulged his feelings about her during an interview at The Breakfast Club in January. Now, the power couple are as “P” as can be in their latest offering — complementing the love in the air with a testament to their own.

While the Atlanta native continues to enjoy his rising popularity and stardom, it definitely won’t be the last time Gunna experiences the fruits of his labor at this level.
