IDK makes a statement on his new two-pack ‘W13’

As releases pick up heading into the final few months of the year, Maryland’s IDK refuses to lose momentum — blessing his fans once again in 2022 with a two-song pack titled W13 (Aug. 26).

Both of W13‘s tracks land on the more relaxing side of IDK’s discography, with its first song “Drive” showcasing his vocal range as he croons over a smooth R&B instrumental.

Then on “Free Slime,” he reveals his feelings on Young Thug’s current legal issues stemming from the RICO charge that he is currently battling. Thugger and IDK previously crossed paths on the energetic banger “Pradadabang” from the latter’s 2021 album USEE4YOURSELF, so it’s easy to image why he shows so much sympathy towards Slime’s cause.

Earlier this year, IDK and Kaytranada joined forces for a collaborative project titled Simple., following up his feature-heavy deluxe for USEE4YOURSELF with a light, eight-song project featuring appearances from Mike Dimes and Denzel Curry. This May release, full of light-hearted dance production, opened the door for IDK to continue exploring his sound, evident on these latest groovy cuts.

After eight years in the game, IDK’s work ethic is finally getting the recognition it deserves, with the hip-hop community praising this two-pack despite its stark competition with last week’s stacked lineup of releases.
