KayCyy’s upcoming mixtape ‘GUTI’ is set for release June 3

KayCyy’s ascension as one of the game’s next superstars has now reached stratospheric heights.

Amid constantly teasing his upcoming project Get Used To It — which will act as a teaser tape for his long-awaited debut album Who Is KayCyy? — the 24-year-old singer-rapper isn’t settling for anywhere but “the top,” officially announcing GUTI’s drop date Wednesday (May 25)

Stemming from his 3-track EP TW20 50 with French producer Gaseffelstein, KayCyy wanted fans to “Get Used To It” with the braggadocious “Borrow” earlier this month — leading in the mixtape’s eventual release on June 3.

Pushing back the release date from May 27 to combat leaks — and a constantly evolving tracklist — he’s kept momentum by linking up with Fivio Foreign and Chlöe for the visual to “Hello” as well as lending his vocals to the opening track of Johan Lenox’s debut album. Now streaking towards the first full-length project of his YZY Sound era, KayCyy is championing flawless execution before he takes flight.

On his presumed lead single “Borrow,” the track strongly reasserts KayCyy’s knack for ethereally-driven melodies over booming, high energy production, as the Kenya-born, Minnesota-raised emcee is showing that he’s here to stay for a long time. “If I’m late, save my seat at the table,” KayCyy spits with both poise and potency — ripping off a barrage of bars touting his patented, aerated flow.

When you borrow my lingo, borrow my words, do you know what it mean? (Yeah, yeah)

Subtracting the phonies, thеse n–s don’t know what it feels to be me (Lеt’s go, ooh)

Got lean, it’s a whole ‘nother level (Ooh, ooh)

If I’m late, yeah, save my seat at the table (Ooh, ooh)

Godly, I stomped on the devil (Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, uh)

At the top where I settle, yeah (Let’s go)

KayCyy — “Borrow”

Jumping from roof to roof in the track’s coinciding visual, orange hues litter the beautiful Paris cityscape with KayCyy expertly flowing about his peers biting his clothes, swag and sauce — crafting yet another bold and braggadocios banger that fans will have on repeat for weeks.

On his way to bigger and better things, “Borrow” is just the first step of many towards his formal debut. Previously speaking with Our Generation Music about what fans can expect when WIKC does finally arrive, he’s still striving for “perfection” — and with more hints sure to be on the way — KayCyy’s seat at the table will be reserved until he gives it up.
