Rolling Loud Miami got off to a rocky start stemming from Kanye West’s abrupt departure from the festival last weekend.

His last-minute cancellation seemed to have thrown festival-goers and staff for a loop Friday night (July 22). With former KIDS SEE GHOSTS collaborator Kid Cudi taking his place as Friday’s headliner, the Man On The Moon emcee left the stage mid-set after getting hit by water bottles and other items thrown by audience members.

“I will f—king leave. If I get hit with one more f—king thing — if I see one more f—king thing on this f—king stage, I’m leaving,” he threatened the audience, visibly upset with the situation at hand. “Don’t fuck with me,” he said again as someone was quick to throw another water bottle at Cudi —prompting him to walk offstage as the crowd chanted Ye’s name. The person who threw the final water bottle took to Twitter to boast this feat, calling Cudi “soft” and saying they wanted “Kanye anyways.”

To make matters worse, West made a surprise appearance during Lil Durk’s closing set. Donning a full face mask and reflective shades, West interpolated his The Life Of Pablo track “Father Stretch My Hands, Pt. 1,” which questionably contains vocals from Cudi. He also joined Durk to perform their new Cardi B collaboration “Hot Shit” on stage.

After his set, Durk teased an upcoming album set to drop by the end of the year when speaking to RapCaviar’s Speedy Mormon. “Yeah, shout out Metro, Rest In Peace to Mama Metro,” Durk confirmed, alluding to his long-awaited album No Auto with Metro Boomin. “All hot shit, [it’s] turnt up.”

Cudi and West have been at odds since February when Ye took to social media to say that Cudi would not appear on Donda 2 due to his friendship with Pete Davidson (who is dating his ex-wife Kim Kardashian). The pair exchanged social blows with another, as their beef continues to sizzle months after their public falling out.

Revered for their legendary collaborations, the future of their friendship is all up in the air — if Cudi and Kanye can ever come back from this level of disrespect.
