Kwe the Artist looks to ‘Level Up’ with new single

Tampa Bay’s very own Kwe the Artist has seen his stock steadily rise since his lone 2020 project Stû. The album brought him one of his most successful tracks with promotional single “In My Head,” which has garnered over 1.7 million streams on Spotify.

Since then, single releases in the back half of 2021 have popped off, most notably August’s “Creep On [Sneaky Link]” with Rich The Kid and “Okay Shawty,” which has eclipsed 4.5 million Spotify streams.

Now, after turning the page to the new year and seeing tangible streaming victories, Kwe is feeling himself. So much so that on March 11, he dropped the anthem to his progress with “Level Up,” which helps to put into words how accomplished he feels.

Kwe’s calling card throughout his discography is his deep, yet melodic voice that he can manipulate with ease. Over the multi-instrumental production that contains keys and brass instruments, Kwe’s artistry is on full display on “Level Up.”

I just leveled up I thank God

Straight from the mud now it’s time to get the pie

Sweat, tears and blood you can see it in my eyes

My future turnin’ up what a time to be alive

“Level Up” — Kwe the Artist

In the verses on the track, Kwe likens his status and notoriety to that of beloved internet comedian Druski and hip-hop icon Missy Elliot. Overall, “Level Up” gives an invincible feeling to any listener that indulges in Kwe’s fiery vocal inflections, and will only boost his already blossoming career.
