Lil Durk continues ‘7220’ era with 14-track deluxe

When Lil Durk dropped the Reloaded version of his March album 7220, he added just one track. Now, Durkio returns with an entire B-Side of his Billboard No. 1 project, bringing forth 13 new cuts on the proper deluxe to 7220.

Featuring Moneybagg Yo, EST GEE, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie and fellow OTF rapper Doodie Lo — who traded verses with Durk on the album’s lead track “Did Shit To Me” — the deluxe to 7220 is as fiery as its first chapter. Also containing the previously released “Computer Murderers,” the 14-track LP sees Durk operating at the height of his power.

Since the release of the original 7220, Durk has stayed particularly busy building out his newfound superstar status. Stemming from his instantly viral hit with Drake on “Laugh Now Cry Later” (2020), Durk has seen immense mainstream success in the years since.

While his street credibility and stronghold in Chicago is everlasting in its own right, “The Voice” is using, well, his voice more than ever before. Durk’s 7220 era innovately explores his vocal abilities in between a barrage of street-centric bars and quick-witted quips of his past — further showcasing his ability to transcend trap music’s sonic limitations.

Amid its release on Friday (June 24), Durk has added another round of stops to his 7220 tour later this Fall. Kicking off in Oklahoma City on Sept. 17, the 15-date tour is set wrap on Oct. 17 in Seattle, Washington. Durk is also bringing XXL Freshman Nardo Wick and Doodie Lo along for the month-long trek.

Following his Lyrical Lemonade visual honoring the late Virgil Abloh, the “What Happened To Virgil” emcee also made an appearance at GIVENCHY and Louis Vuitton’s SS23 Shows on Thursday (June 23) in Paris. Modeling for designer brand Amiri, Durk’s next moves following his 7220 era could potentially involve more runway walks.
