In both tracks, Mexico’s versatility shines throughout, as his sound and overall range further shows the talent he possesses. On the up-tempo “No More,” Mexico carries the track with a melodic, upbeat flow over fast-paced production — creating an extremely catchy hook that sticks the landing.
The EP’s accompanying visual features buzzing Memphis star Pooh Shiesty, who’s 2021 success has allowed him to flourish as not only a XXL Freshman, but a serious contender for best new artist of the year. Perfectly feeding off their Southern flair on “Different Kind,” Shiesty flows over the track’s slow-paced piano instrumental, as Mexico embodies a similar flow found on his breakout hit “Trap Boys.”
Over the past year, Lil Mexico has drastically improved his sound and is rapidly growing his audience because of it. He’s not only caught the attention of new fans due to his unique sound, but also has landed co-signs from artists in Lil Keed and Lil Durk.
In many of his social media posts, fans can see him donning a glistening chain that reads “OTF” gifted to him by Durk when he originally signed to his label, “Only The Family.”
While Lil Mexico continues to prove he is a legitimate talent in the new wave, be sure to look out for an upcoming full-length release in the near future.
