After two and a half years and three promotional singles, alternative-pop darling Rex Orange County is back with a brand new album. On March 11, the beloved Brit dropped his fourth studio album WHO CARES?, containing 11 songs and lasting 34 minutes.

When releasing WHO CARES?, Rex also delivered a message of gratitude to his peers who helped him create the album and his closest supporters, saying, “I don’t think I would be here without you.”
The three pre-released singles “AMAZING,” “KEEP IT UP” and OPEN A WINDOW” with Tyler, The Creator all land on the project, and helped to prepare fans for the new era of Rex Orange County.

Rex Orange County shares ‘Open A Window’ featuring Tyler, The Creator ahead of ‘WHO CARES?’
Rex Orange County‘s long-awaited third studio album WHO CARES? is now just days away. Previously rolling out the project with singles in “KEEP IT UP” and “AMAZING,” the British singer had one more gift in store for fans before the LP drops this Friday.
On Wednesday (March 9), Rex shared “OPEN A WINDOW” featuring none other than the charismatic Tyler, The Creator. This is the third track between the two genre-bending savants, however, it is their first coming off an official release by Rex Orange County. Their previous collaborations were off Tyler’s 2017 album Flower Boy, where Rex assisted on the intro “Foreword” and fan-favorite, “Boredom.”

“OPEN A WINDOW” exists between the laid-back nuances of Rex’s sultry sung hooks and Tyler’s robust verse that sees him rapping about feeling trapped and trying to break free. As life continues to slow down, the pair take things as they come, as Tyler doesn’t want to “engage, I don’t care” with Rex crooning “Stuck here and I never seem to get away but I’ll hang on.” This feeling of push-and-pull keeps Rex and Tyler around for those who need them, yet are holding onto their own patience by a thread.
Nah really, if something feeling dirty to me
At the roots like a tree
See, I just up and I leaf (leave)
It ain’t pertaining to me
I don’t engage I don’t care
They like “You get it?”
I’m like yeah and get the fuck outta here
See I concur, I’m modest
I’m Tyler, I’m honest
Never bite my tongue, it’s for the better, I promise
Tyler, The Creator — “Open A Window”
Much like Rex, the CMIYGL rapper professes his honesty, playing off the UK singer’s lines about “F—k this, I might leave the people telling me what I should do.” Rex is equally as entrancing as Tyler on the record, with his voice floating over its swooning strings, thumping finger-picked bass and joyous piano melodies overlapping groovy percussion.
Ultimately, Rex and Tyler have yet to miss, and continue to do so on their latest offering. “Open A Window” and enjoy the breezy vibes Rex and Tyler employ before WHO CARES? hits DSPs March 11.

Rex Orange County set to drop new album ‘WHO CARES?’ on March 11
English artist Rex Orange County has steadily been rising through the ranks of alternative pop stars over the last few years.
Whether it be his upbeat October 2017 smash hit “Loving Is Easy,” which has garnered over 379 million Spotify streams, or his magnificent “when you’re having fun” hook on Tyler, The Creator‘s Flower Boy bop “Boredom,” Rex is a hot commodity, to say the least.
Project wise, Rex’s most recent studio album Pony (2019), saw him tap into his bread and butter once more, crafting acoustic, mellow ballads like “Pluto Projector” and pop-leaning, enjoyable tracks like “10/10.”
Now, the South England vocalist is days away from his fourth studio album WHO CARES?, which drops next Friday, March 11.

WHO CARES? is set to last 35 minutes and contain 11 songs, as both of the album’s promotional singles will also be included in the tracklist. “KEEP IT UP” was the first single released, which arrived on Jan. 26, and will be the intro for WHO CARES?
The second single came in the form of “AMAZING” on Valentine’s Day (Feb. 14), as Rex hoped to cater the violin-aided love song to the holiday, as well as the flow of the album.
While he has been rolling out WHO CARES?, Rex has been uploading short, typically one-minute videos of his studio sessions from the project’s creation to his YouTube channel.
It’s currently unclear if he will add any more singles to the album before it drops, but the two existing ones will surely arouse fans that have been waiting for a new Rex Orange County LP for over two years.
