We are currently in the midst of a stellar resurgence from Georgian star Rich The Kid. Looking to regain his dominant aura from the 2010s, the 30 year old has made several moves in the second half of the year to reignite his fanbase.
Along with putting out his first solo single of the year titled “Motion” on Nov. 14, Rich The Kid has also seemingly revived his powerhouse label Rich Forever, which included fellow icons like Famous Dex and Jay Critch. After linking with Critch for the joint single “Lefty” in September, the duo connected with Dex on Dec. 14 to officially christen their return.
Perhaps looking to craft the fifth rendition of the Rich Forever album series with Dex and Critch soon, which Dex mentioned on Twitter, Rich The Kid is also back on track with solo endeavors to end the year. Three days after the video surfaced of the trio’s reunion, Rich dropped his new single “No More Friends” on Dec. 16.
Although he is clearly back in the fold with two of his best pals in the industry, Rich insists on the new track that he “wants racks” and “wants no more friends.” Produced by Painkid, who he worked with previously for the title track off his 2020 NBA YoungBoy collab album Nobody Safe, “No More Friends” sees Rich’s bounce and flair at its absolute peak.
With verses about his “professional flexing” ways and friends turning to opps, Rich’s performance is one of his best in years, surely inspiring hope that a forthcoming solo project or the eventual Rich Forever 5 tape would be worth the wait.
As we approach 2023, everything seems to be trending in the right direction for Rich The Kid, even if his “no more friends” mantra may not hold up.
