Just two weeks ago, Roddy Ricch released his highly-anticipated sophomore album LIVE LIFE FAST, and listeners aren’t quite sure how it’s hitting just yet.
While the project displayed Roddy’s impressive versatility — and showcased potent superstar ability — it seemingly fell flat amongst his hardcore fan base. However, we’ve seen this effect take place before, reigniting the flames that fueled the argument for Whole Lotta Red, which is now considered to be a widespread album of the year.
LIVE LIFE FA$T is Roddy’s first project in over two years following his groundbreaking debut album Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial. The album featured a handful of RIAA platinum certifications, as well as his newly-earned diamond track “The Box” — putting him in an extremely rare category as one of the few rappers with a solo diamond track.
LIVE LIFE FA$T peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard and sold a total of 64,000 units first week in comparison to Excuse Me For Being Antisocial selling 101,000 first-week units and peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard.
While Roddy received an abnormally large amount criticism and mixed thoughts on the project across all social platforms — he did take to Twitter to enlighten fans on his upcoming project Feed Tha Streets 3.
Given the randomness and lack of information of this announcement, it may come as a response to the backlash he’s been getting from his sophomore tape. Regardless, fans now have something to look forward to come the new year.
Despite the initial reactions and thoughts on LIVE LIFE FAST, Roddy is still one of the elite talents in the music industry, holding one of the most impressive resumes among rappers. As Feed Tha Streets 3 looks closers, Roddy is set to take off at his highest mark yet.
