Rowdy Rebel comes with energy on new single ‘Woo Nina’

Since artists like Pop Smoke and Fivio Foreign shined a light on New York City’s vibrant drill scene, NYC rappers have been coming with a different level of aggression — and Rowdy Rebel is no exception.

Fully embracing the Woo’s movement on his latest single “Woo Nina,” Rowdy brings forth one of his most energetic tracks to date.

In hard-hitting fashion, “Woo Nina” showcases Rebel’s booming vocal prowess as he slides over the track’s gliding 808 progression — adding a “hype” atmosphere to an otherwise eerie orchestra loop. Rowdy sticks to his usual subject matter, dropping vicious bars as he warns his opposition against trying him. Visuals for the track additionally show the NYC emcee hanging out on the block with a group of his peers — confirming that when he says “Woo Nina,” there’s always someone to “Woo” back.

“Bitch, we back on gang time (It’s gon’ be dark)

Shout out Bobby for the gang, he did that damn time (He didn’t say a word)

So if he tell me, “Up that bitch”, it ain’t gon’ take time (Put your bitch on a curb)

We got different watches on but we all on the same time (We in good time)

And we still duck the feds when we clutch the stick lines (Not at all)

Rowdy Rebel — “Woo Nina”

This is Rowdy’s second solo single of 2022, with the first being “Rowdy vs. Rebel” — a bipolar record explaining the two distinct elements to his stage name. Rowdy’s last LP, Shmoney Keeps Calling, has held fans over since 2016, with his jail sentence preventing him from following up on its success until now.

As fans await his next project, “Woo Nina” is just the latest for what Rebel has in store this year.
