It’s been a little over four months since Kanye West released his 10th studio album Donda.
With a slew of end-of-year nominations — including a coveted Grammy nod for Album of the Year — Ye has reportedly begun working on Donda 2 just three days into 2022.
According to an exclusive report via Complex, G.O.O.D. Music COO and Victor Victor Worldwide founder Steven Victor divulged to the outlet that “Ye has started working on his new masterpiece Donda 2.”
Victor is a frequent associate of West’s and spearheaded both of Pop Smoke’s posthumous projects in the last two years Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon and FAITH. He also holds the title of SVP of A&R at Universal Music Group.
While there are still very few details in regards to Donda’s reported sequel, fans can speculate that Ye is up to something as he was recently seen working with Scarface in the studio last week.
Ye’s tribute to his mother Donda consisted of 27 tracks, sold an impressive 309K copies in its first week and was certified Gold in September. A month and a half following its release, Ye would go on to share the project’s deluxe version with five new tracks and reincluded features from KayCyy, Kid Cudi and others.
