It’s the start of the new year and new episodes of The Cave with Kenny Beats look to be pouring in.
Genre chameleon Toro Y Moi (referred to by his given name, Chaz) makes his Cave debut with an attempt at channeling Kenny’s EDM background.
We kick off the episode with some tongue-in-cheek conflict as Chaz’s videographer and Aris, Kenny’s in-house camera man, jokingly butt heads. Kenny finds himself exposed as Chaz reveals that he looked into his background as a producer for electronic dance duo LOUDPVCK.
The duo go on to create a groovy beat, as Toro Y Moi layers beautiful melodies off a MIDI keyboard and Kenny sprinkles in his signature high-quality sample selection. Just as it seems like Kenny’s laptop is reaching critical heating levels, Chaz hops in the booth to drop a mellow verse primarily discussing food.
2021 brought us a variety of guests on the music-making web series, such as Isaiah Rashad, Teezo Touchdown, Mozzy, Saba, BabyTron and more. As Kenny recently showcased an even longer list of artists he produced for in 2021, 2022 looks to brings forth a fresh slate of collaborations for Kenny.
