Two of hip-hop’s most exciting young lyricists have taken a great deal of time off since their last full-length projects.
St. Louis native Smino released his sophomore album NOIR in late 2018, while Westside Boogie‘s breakout project Everythings for Sale in early 2019 saw him surge in popularity.
Since then, each of the two’s releases have been few and far between, with Smino occasionally releasing singles here and there, and WS Boogie hardly ever putting out music at all. However, earlier this week on Sept. 18, the duo hinted at the intriguing idea of collaborating on an album in the future.
Cmon .

While this hypothetical project would certainly be career-elevating for both parties involved, it is also fascinating to imagine how great the music would be. Both Smino and WS Boogie are introspective and passionate artists, who can detonate with lyrical and energetic verses when they see fit.
There is likely a lot more that needs to be done before this project comes to fruition, but with both of these poets on board, hopefully we could get music from the duo in the future, as they have never shared a track before.
