Yak Yola reps his block on ‘Zoo-43rd’

Yak Yola owns the streets of West Philadelphia, stemming from his newest video for his single “Zoo-43rd.”

His delivery on his latest single consists of aggressive yet near-conversational bars as he speaks his mind word-for-word. Production was handled by Madmannise, who combines dark piano with high pitch keys and heavy 808s blissfully.

Having popped into the game in 2019, Yak Yola is still in the infancy of his career, but has worked with some notable up-and-comers in Sheff G, Sleepy Hallow and the late-King Von. The Philly product also garnered a co-sign from city legend Meek Mill after his breakout hit “Demon Time” climbed atop the YouTube trending page.

Just a few months ago, Yak released his third full-length drop, Yak In The Box, featuring collaborations with Lil Gotit, AzChike and Reemo. All three of these songs dropped sporadically as fans waited patiently for the project’s release — giving little insight to his rollout method.

While Yak continues to make a name for himself, don’t sleep on the West Philly emcee.
