Ye plans to visit Russia to meet Putin, perform Sunday Services internationally

Kanye West has made headlines for many different things throughout his career, but this one is a bit more out of left field.

Just days after he was in the studio with former NFL star Antonio Brown, Ye is plotting to expand his international presence in uncharted territory. According to Billboard, a source close to Ye divulged that he plans to go to Russia to perform multiple Sunday Services as his first concerts in the country. The YZY mogul also plans to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin and discuss business-related topics in an attempt to widen his brand.

Ye’s confidant and strategic advisor, Ameer Sudan is helping Ye plan his trip to Russia and is working directly with Scott Balber — managing partner of Herbert Smith Freehills’ New York office on travel arrangements.

According to Sudan, he and Balber will be acting as liaisons between Ye and Balber’s client’s Azerbaijani-Russian billionaire Aras Agalarov and his son Emin Agalarov.

Sudan also mentioned that Russia is going to be “a second home” for Ye, and that “He will be spending a lot of time out there.”

According to Billboard, they stated that The U.S. Department of State has listed Russia as a level 4 “do not travel” advisory, due to terrorism, harassment by Russian government security officials, harassment by Russian government security officials, the embassy’s limited ability to assist U.S. citizens in Russia and the arbitrary enforcement of local law.

Sudan also told Billboard that “This is Ye, Ye is going to get there regardless.” He also stated “Kanye knows what’s going on more than the average human being, he’s well aware of things. And it’s nothing against the United States or to cause conflicts, but Ye is Ye — he can’t be controlled.”

Like Ye, Sudan has no concerns over his upcoming trip to Russia. This trip is not a surprising move for West, as he is known to go against the grain more than most.
