Yeat has been virtually inescapable over the past two years. Whether it’s an oft-collaboration with The Minions or his music being featured in a NOCTA ad or HBO’s Euphoria, the rapper is always finding new ways to innovate.
Recently, Yeat has been all over the internet due to his feature on “IDGAF” off Drake’s recent album For All The Dogs. The track took the internet by storm over the past few weeks, as fans began making parody videos imitating both Drake and Yeat for their parts on the track. “IDGAF” got so much love and attention that it debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, and No. 1 on Billboard’s Global 200.
As a result, his appearance on FATD saw his popularity soar to new heights — reaching a significant milestone of 3 million Instagram followers. To celebrate this achievement, Yeat unveiled “Wtf thëy on” — a SoundCloud effort he promised to fans upon hitting 3 million.
The new release comes after his August single, “bigger thën everything,” which is the lead track off his upcoming album LyfëStyle (which is rumored to drop as soon as next week, Oct. 27). Yeat has been building anticipation for the project as he has been seen on IG live sharing snippets to upcoming tracks.
