Bas feat. J. Cole & Lil Tjay — “The Jackie”
Dreamville’s Bas returns following his incredible guest appearances on J. Cole’s The Offseason — recruiting the Dreamville boss, Lil Tjay and T-Minus for their bouncy and melodic trap joint, “The Jackie.” Cole controls the hook and lends a powerful verse, as Bas and Tjay both follow his lead with enjoyable rhymes and flowing chemistry. Bas also dropped the visuals for “The Jackie” Friday morning, as the trio look to make a strong case for “song of the summer.”
Vince Staples — “Vince Staples”
Vince Staples’ first album after a three-year hiatus comes in the form of a self-titled, self-curated manifesto. With previous singles in “LAW OF AVERAGES” and “ARE YOU WITH THAT,” it was apparent that Vince was coming with a different energy on this project. He seems more focused than ever — viciously spitting both fire and facts over the head-bobbing, laid-back production overseen by Kenny Beats. His self-titled LP shows a glowing sense of poise and self-awareness, making him a conscious ‘Staple’ in your rotation from now on.
IDK — “USEE4YOURSELF”
Lined with a loaded feature roster and attractive lead singles with Offset, Young Thug, MF DOOM, Westside Gunn and Jay Electronica, IDK’s sophomore record, USEE4YOURSELF, is not only the eye-catching follow-up to his debut, Is He Real?, but also is IDK’s best effort to date. With tight lyricism and amazing chemistry, IDK is back and better than ever — seeing his success for himself throughout each track.
Post Malone — “Motley Crew“
After rumors of two new Post Malone projects were said to be in the works, the Austin-native is back in his rap bag — linking up with Lyrical Lemonade and NASCAR for “Motley Crew.” With appearances from Big Sean, Tyga, French Montana and others, the song and the visual perfectly align with Malone’s comeback tour, as Posty prepares to shine brighter this time around.
The Kid LAROI & Justin Bieber — “Stay”
The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber look to dominate the charts with their new hit “Stay.” Leakers have seemingly had a hold on the song over the past few months, as the late Juice WRLD was originally slated to feature on the track. However, amid Juice’s untimely passing and LAROI’s falling out with Grade A earlier this year, Bieber is the perfect addition — having a lot in common with LAROI on a personal level. Whether it’s immigrating from another country or living their teen years famously as an nationally known pop-star, this lethal pop duo is poised to set the Billboard Hot 100 ablaze.
Bighead & Yung Booke feat. Three Days Grace & Young Thug — “Emotions”
Atlanta based rapper Yung Booke — who is signed to TI’s label Hustle Gang — connects with producer Bighead for their track “Emotions.” Featuring Young Thug and punk-rock band Three Days Grace, the track has a slew of influences, making it out to be a genreless rollercoaster ride of enjoyment. While Booke only has 30,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, securing the likes of Thugger and TDG on a track is only a testament to his talent.
Matt Ox & Lancey Foux— “Take Advantage”
OGM veterans Matt Ox and Lancey Foux link up for this fast-paced, one-minute banger “Take Advantage.” Foux and Ox have been known to work together recently, as the underground phenoms continue to bolster their new wave sound together. Check out their OGM interviews here.
YoungBoy Never Broke Again — “Nevada”
Fresh off of his guest spot on Tyler, The Creator’s hit song “WUSYANAME,” YoungBoy’s uniquely soulful mix of singing and rapping has brought him into a new light for casual listeners. On his new track “Nevada,” he deviates from his singing to create a vibey trap cut fit for any pool party this summer.
Yung Bleu feat. Big Sean — “Way More Close”
As Yung Bleu is gearing up to drop his album Moon Boy on July 23, he gifted fans with another single from the project Friday, recruiting Big Sean on “Way More Close.” Bleu has received co-signs from some of the biggest names in the game like Drake, H.E.R., Toosie, Chris Brown and others, as “Way More Close” teases his rollout further with wavy production and an excellent feature verse from Sean.
glaive & ericdoa — “fuck this town”
For teenage stars in glaive and ericdoa, making songs that stay stuck in your head for days just seems to come natural. On their joint cut “fuck this town,” glaive and eric switch-off effortlessly, crooning over tinny, high-energy pop production. As the de facto leaders of hyperpop’s ascent into the mainstream, fans are sure to see this combo collaborate again sooner rather than later.
Snoh Aalegra & Tyler, The Creator — “NEON PEACH” & “IN THE MOMENT”
Swedish R&B singer Snoh Aalegra’s third studio album, TEMPORARY HIGHS IN THE VIOLET SKIES, not only features two Tyler, The Creator verses, but sees Tyler as the antagonist to Aalegra’s love story. The tracks fit the mold of Tyler’s lo-fi, R&B-funk lane, as Aalegra’s angelic vocals maintain its place as the centerpiece of both records — returning after a two-year hiatus with some firepower from hip-hop’s hottest artist.
