Lefty Gunplay, Deebaby admit ‘Gangsters Get Lonely Too’ on new single (OGM Premiere)

Gangster to their core, Lefty Gunplay and Deebaby openly wear their hearts on their sleeve. Connecting on their new collaboration “Gangsters Get Lonely Too,” Los Angeles meets Houston for a Tex-Mex jaunt tailor-made for the streets.

Premiering the official music video with Our Generation Music, both Latino emcees mesh their signature sounds through the lens of emotive, guitar-laced production. Directed by Shooter Zongo, the run-and-gun video sees Dee and Lefty flexing in a spacious mansion, on stage and in the studio seemingly speaking to their respective love interests — and side pieces — buying them “whatever they want.”

“I’m thinking about cheating on my baby mama with you,” Lefty calls out, as Dee responds later in his verse, “if I say I love you baby, just know that it’s true.” On the surface, “Gangsters Get Lonely Too” is a ghetto love story, but spoken through two of the streets’ most suave, yet embattled voices.

About Lefty Gunplay & Deebaby

Lefty Gunplay has Los Angeles on lock, hailing from San Gabriel Valley. Lefty (aka Franklin Holladay) immerses you with his raw honesty in his music — not biting his tongue when it comes to detailing the gritty scenes that surround him. He’s the true definition of a “ghetto superstar.” However, music is what saves him from the warfare that wages in the streets of South Central, describing his songs as “therapy” — for better or worse. Lefty’s shared two projects in 2024, Rookie Of The Year and Famous Gangbanger, turning heads with his natural display of raw emotion in each of his tracks.

Similarly, DeeBaby’s debut album, The Black Sheep, was created during his stint of sobriety, trying to rid his body of all the “disgusting” things surrounding him at the time. His latest album Junkie Mode sees Deebaby “back in motion,” knowingly for better or for worse, embracing his vices that shot his visibility through the roof.

Clad with co-signs from Kodak Black and Kevin Gates, who refers to Deebaby as “the Mexican version of me,” tracks like “Love Scars,” “Listen To Your Heart” and the fan-favorite “Anymore” sees the Texas emcee’s evolution come full circle — filled with emotional Southern-hybrid hip-hop that reads like a love story. With reference points from Houston’s prolific Chopped N Screwed scene, hard rock and an affinity for country music, Deebaby is admittedly hard to pin down in every way.
