Loe Shimmy Interview: Drake, Brent Faiyaz, ‘Nardy World’ & More

Hailing from Pompano Beach, Florida, Loe Shimmy is no stranger to bright lights shining on him.

Fresh off a blazing collaboration with Brent Faiyaz on his new album Nardy World (Nov. 8), Shimmy has captured the imagination of the Sunshine State (and beyond) with his eerie melodies and uniquely understated approach to Florida’s wavy, yet gritty sound. But on his new effort, he breaks out his comfort zone, continuing to challenge himself as an artist and not boxing himself in.

Saying he wants to try his hand at every genre one day, whether that be Rock, Country, or EDM, Loe is game for it all—not conforming to what the industry dubs as a rapper. Fluid and staying in the present in the moment, Loe does it all for his family and legacy; he doesn’t care about the numbers. The music is what matters most to him.

Sitting down with OGM host Hakeem Rowe, Loe Shimmy speaks on linking up with Drake and Brent Faiyaz, touring with Sexyy Red, working with Cash Cobain, his new album Nardy World and much more in our latest Our Generation Music exclusive interview.
