When SZA announced that rising alt-phenom d4vd would be accompanying her on the second leg on her nationally-renowned SOS Tour, we were overly ecstatic! The TDE songstress’ December 2022 album, SOS, has been a moment for both SZA and the Queens-based sensation, as the tour’s success — returning for a another round this Fall — is a testament to their star power and friendship.
“Being a black alt-kid all grown up, I needed you,” she said in his hometown of New York City. “I needed you when I was younger, I need you now. We need you.” While SOS is the main soundtrack for SZA’s nationwide trek, d4vd’s debut EP, Petals To Thorns, and most recent project, The Lost Petals EP, have been highlights on his second performance outing ever — with his first being his own headlining tour earlier this year.
