It’s been a little over a year since the 19-year-old “Costa Rica” artist Bankrol Hayden dropped his debut album Pain is Temporary.
Since landing features from Lil Baby and Polo G, he has been somewhat quiet — only releasing three songs so far in 2021. However, Hayden has worked with artists such as DDG, KA$HDAMI, 2KBABY and others throughout the year.
Now, Bankrol Hayden is back — this time recruiting “Ransom” star Lil Tecca for their new single “Come Through.”
The new track contains a flute-like instrumental, upbeat claps and a melodic, ambient choir in the background. Any fan of Bankrol Hayden knows that he is notorious for his catchy hooks, exuding his knack for melodies immediately as the track starts.
I’m like, “Baby, come through”
It’s a spaceship, I got stars in the roof
Knew me in the past and now you say I’m brand new
Feelin’ like a don when I’m off the ’42
Bring a couple friends with you, baby, come through
“Come Through” Bankrol Hayden & Lil Tecca
In the track, Tecca and Hayden trade verses — both sing-rapping with their tuneful, distinct voices — even making references to Don Julio and Larry Bird. The song, although short and simple, is catchy enough where you will find yourself listening to it on repeat.
While he continues to build his discography, Bankrol Hayden only seems to progress and gain momentum with every song he releases. Be on the lookout for more music from Hayden in the future.
