d4vd ignites fresh era with new EP ‘WITHERING’

While Petals To Thorns was the onset of d4vd’s global takeover, his latest two-pack WITHERING marks the beginning of a fresh, full-length era.

Sharing two tracks in “2016” and “Leave Her,” the 18-year-old alt superstar’s first releases of 2024 sound as resounding as they are refined. “Leave Her,” a wistful, upbeat rock anthem that feeds the depths of love-torn core, is one of the most emotional and reflective tracks the Houston native has shared over the past year.

“2016,” which is fittingly nostalgic, is more tempered and retrospective — seeing d4vd lean into his pop-rock bag, charismatically crooning over powerful electric guitars: “I’m not the same kid as I was in 2016.”

Amid Petals To Thorns and his holdover EP, The Lost Petals, 2023 saw d4vd outwardly soar to new heights. Not only clad with his career-defining single Romantic Homicide” — which has achieved over 1 billion streams across all platforms — d4vd’s inclusion on SZA’s prolific “SOS Tour” has allowed the rising phenom to flourish in all facets. The singer also lent his vocals to The Kid LAROI‘s latest album, The First Time, on “THE LINE.”

If you’re new here… d4vd’s trajectory as a timeless star of our generation continues to get brighter with each new effort. Whatever sounds his next full-length album, WITHERED, will bring forth, it’ll to be a true changing of life’s seasons for d4vd; letting more petals fall to the floor.
