Matt Ox, Lancey Foux recruit DotCom Nirvan for visual of ‘Take Advantage’

For Our Generation veterans in Matt Ox and Lancey Foux, taking advantage of their chemistry seems to comes easy.

As both Ox and Foux performed live shows in Los Angeles last weekend, they linked up with DotCom Nirvan for their latest collaboration, “Take Advantage” beforehand — showcasing their individual sounds to be natural fits for each other.

The Nirvan-directed visual depicts a timer at the start of the video — coinciding with the track’s fast-paced bars and production. With a run-time of only one minute and four seconds, Ox and Foux viciously trade off bars with a need for speed, as Ox shouts “go, go, go” near the track’s end. Picking up the pace throughout, Nirvan’s quick cuts and colorful cinematography elevate the track’s dark and chaotic feel. Shot in dimly lit streets and parking lots, Ox and Foux boisterously spit menancing bars about their success — ultimately curating an anthem tailor-made for the streets

After earning mainstream success off his breakout hit “Overwhelming” and on the late XXXTENTACION’s “$$$,” Ox released his debut album OX in 2018 — featuring Chief Keef, KEY! and Valee — but has yet to officially release another solo project since. However, Ox has been busy dropping singles this year in “Chess,” “Choppa,” “Pick A Strain” and his most recent “Already Did It.”

Foux’s presence in the new wave stems from his cosigns from Playboi Carti, Ken Car$on and Skepta, as the UK-based rapper continues to earn his flowers in America. Recently off the back of his latest album FIRST DEGREE, Foux finds comfort in the experimental side of hip-hop — blending the sinister, grimy cadences of UK drill throughout his discography.

This is not the first, nor last, collaboration fans have seen from these two. Connecting on Foux’s single “BASED” in April, it’s not a surprise that the two up-and-coming rappers continue to work together — fittingly becoming a force to be reckoned with.
