Trippie Redd dropped “Holy Smokes” featuring Lil Uzi Vert on Friday (July 16). “Holy Smokes” is the second single to be released for Redd’s upcoming album Trip At Knight, still awaiting a release date and official tracklist.
The rollout for the album began in May when its first single “Miss The Rage” featuring Playboi Carti released. Over an electric rage beat similar to those Carti popularized with his December 2020 album Whole Lotta Red, the duo brought unprecedented energy, grabbing fans’ attention for Trippie Redd’s new era.
“Miss The Rage” reached No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100, which is a great foot forward for Trip At Knight. Now, we have the second single, “Holy Smokes.”
Trippie Redd first teased the track with Lil Uzi Vert on July 7, in a since-deleted Instagram post with a snippet of the song. The groovy production, much like “Miss The Rage,” follows an exceedingly popular trend of a synth-heavy, futuristic sound. Uzi is no stranger to this type of production, as he utilized a similar beat on his December 2019 dance banger “2020 Futsal Shuffle.”
Redd opens the track with his “holy fuckin’ smokes, I got my money up” hook and takes the first verse too, while Uzi’s verse backends the track flexing how he can take your girl and you’ll be helpless.
Your girl got my name tatted, she swear she won’t get a cover up
If he want smoke with me, that’s another blunt (Yeah)
All different kinds, every girl fine, can’t make my mind

The song’s visualizer employs the same animation style used for Juice WRLD‘s music videos for “Wishing Well” and “Smile” with The Weeknd.
Keep an eye out for more Trip At Knight news from Trippie in the near future, as he mentioned in that since-deleted post that the tracklist would come after this single. For now, stream Trippie Redd’s newest single with Lil Uzi Vert, “Holy Smokes.”
