WATCH: Ty Fontaine, Matt Ox connect with DotCom Nirvan for new single ‘Blow It Up!’

Our Generation mainstays in Ty Fontaine and Matt Ox are among the leaders of the new wave, and budding director DotCom Nirvan is right beside them — continuing to prove that he’s one of the most underrated visionaries in the underground scene.

On their new single “Blow It Up,” Ox and Fontaine effortlessly flow over the track’s bubbly, video game production, as this is the duo’s second visual treatment with Nirvan this year — also linking with teenage star KA$HDAMI in June on “Pick A Strain.”

With stunning cinematography, quick cuts and bright colors, Nirvan’s direction and set design seamlessly translates the atmosphere and energy Fontaine and Ox bring on the track. As Fontaine flows with melodic vocal fillers and tight lyricism, Ox follows his lead with a menacing verse of his own — illustrating the pair’s unmatched chemistry throughout the song’s 1:51 run-time.

Fontaine is fresh off his latest album Ascension — his first project after leaving Internet Money this past year. Ascension is a glimpse into Fontaine’s ever-changing world, reaching new heights as an artist as each track progresses.

The album not only asserts Ty’s ability to create infectious hooks and curate high-energy production, but also showcases his knack for using his voice as a force of versatility. Recently announcing its deluxe, Ascension V2, on Twitter, Fontaine is one of the new wave’s most naturally gifted stars, reportedly having songs with SoFaygo and Trippie Redd in the vault.

At just 16-years-old, Ox has been a fixture in the underground scene for quite some time — having over four years of experience in his young career. Earning a guest spot on the late XXXTENTACION’s “$$$,” Ox released his debut album OX in 2018 — featuring Chief Keef, KEY! and Valee — but has yet to officially release another solo project since.

However, Ox has been busy building his discography in 2021, boasting collabs with Lancey Foux (Take Advantage), Prentiss (too fast) as well as dropping singles in “Live It Up” and “Already Did It.”

It’s apparent when this trio links up, it’s problems for everyone else in the underground — as Ox, Fontaine and Nirvan craft yet another catchy, transcendent experience on “Blow It Up.”
