Zack Bia, Lil Yachty, 347Aidan share colorful visual to ‘One Of Those Days’

This story has been updated to reflect the release of the “One Of Those Days” music video on March 14. The track was originally released on Feb. 22.

It’s been “One Of Those Days” — perhaps one of those years — for Lil Yachty. After completely switching sounds with his masterful psych-rock album Let’s Start Here in January, Boat doubled down on his newfound lane with Zack Bia and 347aidan on Bia’s second-ever single “One Of Those Days” (Feb. 22).

Bia, who released his anthemic club cut “Hardcore” with Don Toliver last month, seems to be readying an album of his own. With Toliver, Yachty and hyperpop star 347aidan all slated to be a part of the presumed record — judging from the matching cover art of Bia’s singles — the Field Trip Recordings founder and DJ has every resource to craft an album defined by our generation’s hitmakers.

“One Of Those Days” not only continues Yachty’s foray into alternative music, but reasserts his mission of being taken “seriously as an artist” — not just a rapper. Whimsically crooning his now-signature vibrating vocal inflection, Yachty’s otherworldly hook sends listeners into a time warp, which leads into a raspy yet rather introspective verse from 347aidan. “Me and the clouds collided / The stars have got me blinded / Light waves I’ve started riding,” he floats over the track’s twangy strings and groovy baseline.

Yachty takes a more laid-back approach to his messaging, sing-rapping through airy arpeggiated synths that feel like twinkling stars in the night sky. It’s about living in the moment for Boat on “One Of Those Days,” as he croons “oh yeah coolin at the moment / Ain’t a thing I need / I never try to fight it / if I ain’t got nothing going on.”

Yachty’s feature comes on the heels of interviews with Rap Radar and his forthcoming conversation with Drake, where the OVO mogul talks retirement in the teaser clip. The pair cemented their friendship during the creation of Drizzy and 21 Savage’s latest album Her Loss, where Boat contributed as a writer, producer and was a a heavy hand in the creative direction of the LP.

Despite dropping at the tail-end of February, the upbeat single warms those longing for a summertime anthem, as “One Of Those Days” puts us on a beach somewhere awaiting for Bia’s next move.
