Zzz drops new two-pack ‘A Gift And A Curse’ with high-flying DotComNirvan visual

Zzz is off to an auspicious start, dropping his second-ever music video for “Mile High” this week directed by the new wave’s favorite director, DotComNirvan.

With the elite backing of Lil Bibby’s Grade A Productions (home to Juice WRLD and The Kid Laroi) and a growing list of glowing cosigns from the likes of Future, Taz Taylor, Travis Barker and Benny Blanco, Zzz has been making a serious splash over the last several months. Following up his first official release “All I Never Wanted” in November, his new two-pack A Gift and a Curse containing “Mile High” and “How Does It Feel” is almost certainly a sign that Z is gearing up to unleash that catalog we’ve heard so much about in the new year.

The newly released tracks are strong opening statements from Zzz (aka Zzz.Sam) and an excellent introduction to his highly-polished and uniquely captivating pop-infused style. Especially on “Mile High,” his melodic delivery feels effortless and sounds impossibly confident for the 19-year-old phenom’s second official release – bolstered by the dynamic arrangement and crisp production co-produced by a dream team of Lau, James Maddocks and FuckHaan (his go-to behind the boards who also produced his debut single “All I Never Wanted”).

One notable line to take note of on “Mile High” is when Z says, “I know I’m talking my sh*t, that’s cuz I got my advance,” in reference to the widely publicized $6 million record deal he signed with Grade A Productions that made headlines in April of this year.

Those big numbers may shed some light on the rather extravagant music video that shows Z pulling a whole GTA mission as he travels from the private jet to the Rolls Royce to the awaiting yacht — stopping in his home state to have free reign of the empty University of Florida stadium. The jet-setting music video may just be the most lavish DotComNirvan visual yet, and as always can be found exclusively on the director’s budding platform.

Z has already had quite the year, from mega deals and legendary cosigns, to big looks like performances at Rolling Loud, Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash and premiering the new Moncler x Palm Angels collab alongside Lil Durk – all while finishing school no less. As he continues to let loose the tracks that earned him his deal and landed him on the radar of some of the biggest names in music, Zzz is most certainly gearing up to be a force to be reckoned with in 2023.
