21 Savage partners with Chime for second year of his ‘Bank Account’ financial literacy program

21 Savage is continuing his pledge to educate students on the importance of financial literacy, as the Atlanta star and financial tech company Chime will be giving out $100,000 in scholarships to students who complete a curated, six-part online course.

The promotional video narrated by 21 talks about how necessary being financially literate is in your life and in your community. He mentions how this information will open doors to future success down the road, as the Savage Mode II rapper spoke on wanting to bring back what he’s learned back to Atlanta in effort to aid the younger generation with their financial concerns.

“Financial literacy is important because that’s one of the main things that you need to operate and be successful as an adult. I just wanted to come up with something that could help kids have some understanding of what to do with that money. I don’t feel like that’s really taught to us when we’re young”

The video reveals a newly-renovated basketball court that 21’s foundation Leading by Example and Chime reconstructed. When talking about the court, he detailed how basketball was always an escape from the struggles of daily life and hopes the court will act as a safe space for those in the neighborhood.

21’s program and partnership with Chime initially began last year, hoping the love he’s shown the city and the love he’s received back will inspire the next generation.
