42 Dugg, EST Gee drop collab tape ‘Last Ones Left’

After three consecutive singles — and weeks of anticipation — 42 Dugg and EST Gee have finally shared their high-powered joint project Last Ones Left.

The 17-track mixtape was proceded by promotional cuts “Thump Shit,” “Everybody Shooters Too” and “Free the Shiners.” Just like those singles, Dugg and EST Gee keep the same energy throughout the album, delivering bar-for-bar of street-centric anthems over bouncy, hard-hitting production. The opener “Ice Talk” finds the pair trading verses seamlessly, trying to one up each other each time and daring listeners to pick who’s ended up at the top. Simply put, there’s not a single wasted moment as both emcees operate at their peak.

The pair bring along a few guests to round out the album’s near 40-minute run time. EST Gee gives his crew EST Red and EST DeMike their own moments to shine on their respective solo tracks “Never Scared” and “Strickly for the Gangstas.” Newcomer Tae Money appears on “Of Course” and the closer “Gave it Back,” delivering some stellar debut verses. Overall, the features added a homegrown variety to the project and let fans get a glimpse of these potential upcoming stars.

As Last Ones Left solidifies the CMG labelmates undeniable chemistry, Dugg and Gee seem to be in a space all their own — crafting street-ridden bangers that assert their standing as hip-hop’s new dynamic duo.

42 Dugg, EST Gee announce collab tape ‘Last Ones Left’ dropping April 8

After dropping back-to-back bangers in back-to-back weeks, EST Gee and 42 Dugg are ready to drop their collab project Last Ones Left. The highly anticipated tape is now set to hit DSPs on April 8.

Alongside the announcement teaser posted on their social feeds, the duo also dropped the final single before the full mixtape drops this Friday. The trailer describes the upcoming tape as “the streets most anticipated mixtape of the year” and plays a short snippet of their latest track “Thump Shit.” The clip then ends with the reveal of the cover art — showcasing the two stars’ faces separated by a thick chain.

On “Thump Shit,” Dugg and EST Gee continue their hot streak with ease, as the Detroit mainstay kicks things off over the bass-heavy production with a braggadocious verse. EST Gee quickly follows suit, rapping about his dominance in the streets before Dugg comes back in with a defiant hook. Ultimately, they both bring out the best in each other and go three-for-three with these tracks leading up to their mixtape.

42 Dugg, EST Gee drop second single ‘Everybody Shooters Too’

Just last week, 42 Dugg and EST Gee announced their newly-formed partnership with the first single “Free the Shiners” from their upcoming collaboration tape Last Ones Left. Now, they delivered a second helping and show that “Everybody Shooters Too” on their latest drop.

Much like their previous single, both 42 Dugg and EST Gee hit the ground running. The latter takes the lead on the first verse, rapping about how much clout he has in the streets while the former stunts and talks about his newfound riches. Both mention how feared they are as lyricists and how they’ve essentially become untouchable in the rap game. The track clocks in at just under two minutes and again, like “Free the Shiners,” the pair astonishingly spit over a hard, menacing beat without a hook which allows listeners to focus on every line.

In the Diesel Films directed video, the pair gather their entourages while rapping in the pouring rain. The weather doesn’t seem to faze them though, as they flaunt their cars, jewelry and wealth without a care in the world. They’re at the top of their game now and have still barely shown what their potential peak could be. With their upcoming collaboration tape, it could be what makes them hit their highest heights yet.

Although there is still no planned release for Last Ones Left, these past two sudden drops make it evident that the full album is on the horizon. Leading in their tandem tape with “Everybody Shooters Too” and “Free the Shiners,” 42 Dugg and EST Gee are gearing up for something special.

42 Dugg and EST Gee announce collab album ‘Last Ones Left,’ share lead single ‘Free the Shiners’

CMG Labelmates 42 Dugg and EST Gee have always been a consistent duo — dropping gems like “Members Only” and “5500” — as it only makes sense for the pair to officially come together for a full-length project.

The two just announced their new album Last Ones Left is dropping soon, however, they shared the lead single “Free the Shiners” before things really get going.

Originally, the project was announced and planned to drop back in February, but nothing ever arose. Now, with its lead single on DSPs, it seems that both EST Gee and 42 Dugg are ready to tackle rap charts together.

In the high-flying visual, the pair are lavishly counting their money in their private jet. They trade verses, seamlessly swapping back and forth between lines and show off the impressive chemistry they’ve built together. Dugg’s high-pitched voice compliments EST Gee’s deeper tone and creates for a natural pairing over the hook-less two minutes.
