Reason drops feature filled EP ‘No More, No Less: Demo 1’

It’s only been a year since Reason’s last album, New Beginnings, released. However, the TDE artist has been busy crafting another immersive experience for his listeners.

While he works on his follow-up album, Reason gave fans more of a reason to wait for his next LP — dropping a 3-track project in No More, No Less: Demo 1. The short EP is packed full of features and is just enough to hold listeners over until his upcoming proper studio album is complete.

Touring features from TDE label mates in Isaiah Rashad and Zacari, Reason kicks off the EP with a hard-hitting “Left Hand.” Rashad only appears for a few seconds, but his appearance elevates the track to the next level with his rapid fire delivery and storytelling ability.

Reason caps off the song with a stellar beat switch and a smoother beat to ride it out. Wale and Ade join the California-based rapper on the following track “Not for Me.” Ade belts a defiant hook while Wale and Reason sound hungrier than ever to prove that they are the best in their class.

The final song “12am in ATL” features a stacked lineup with Griselda’s Benny the Butcher, Doe Boy and boasts Rashad’s second appearance on the EP. Over a dusty, looping beat produced by Kal Banx, the song wouldn’t sound out of place on one of Benny’s projects. Its old school flavor allows for each artist to bring their A-game — and they undoubtedly do. Each verse perfectly segues into the next with Reason once again saving his best for last.

While Reason’s next album can be expected in 2022, for now, No More, No Less: Demo 1 does more than enough to keep listners satisfied.
