Baby Keem adds trio of bonus tracks to ‘The Melodic Blue’

Baby Keem’s ascension from a young, buzzing 20-year-old rapper from Las Vegas to one of hip-hop’s wunderkinds has been astounding to witness — especially following his long-awaited debut, The Melodic Blue.

Featuring Kendrick Lamar, Travis Scott and Don Toliver, the 16-track LP encapsulates Keem’s utter uniqueness as a refreshing voice within the genre. A week after its release, Keem announced via Instagram that he added Brent Faiyaz to “lost souls” as well as tracks in “hooligans” and “no sense” to the eccentric LP.

Previously releasing singles and videos for “family ties” and “durag activity,” along with teasing tracks during live performances over the summer, Keem superstar’s potential is now on full display for the world to finally realize.

Keem also offered a fresh pair of visuals that furthers The Melodic Blue’s artistic premise. Dropping “issues” and his latest visual “first order of business,” Keem’s attention to detail is evident in the production and overall care he exemplifies in his work. Buying his grandmother a house in the latter, his homegrown, down-to-earth appeal is coupled with incredible rapping ability and an artistry that instantly separates itself from every other act in hip-hop.

Keem continues to ride the high of his debut record, as The Melodic Blue earned a No. 5 berth on the Billboard 200. Co-producing a total of 14 of the 16 tracks on the album, Keem’s credit as a producer-rapper should definitely be revered as he continues to evolve both sonically and artistically.

Baby Keem to release debut ‘The Melodic Blue’ Sept. 10

After months of teasing tracks off his debut studio album The Melodic Blue, Baby Keem season has finally reached its peak.

Turning heads with blockbuster singles in “durag activity” with Travis Scott and “family ties” with PGLang founder and cousin Kendrick Lamar, Keem is poised for an even greater breakout as one of hip-hop’s most enigmatic lyricists.

With a captivating voice and eccentric flows, Baby Keem’s ability to deliver layered and emotive music further proves his superstar qualities. Earning a feature on “Praise God” off Kanye West’s transcendent LP DONDA, Keem’s co-signs of both Ye and Kendrick have not only skyrocketed his success, but has allowed him to flourish on his own.

Now, as The Melodic Blue is set to release Friday, Sept. 10, Keem looks to level up once more with his refined artistry on full display.

With previous tracks in “no sense,” “sons & critics” and “hooligans” — along with his 2019 project DIE FOR MY BITCH — Keem has a knack for curating introspectively innovative bangers with high-energy production. On “family ties,” Keem switches flows effortlessly within the track’s jarring beat-cuts — curating space to level out Lamar’s sheer rapping prowess, in turn holding his own alongside the TDE legend.

While DIE FOR MY BITCH and its lead single “ORANGE SODA” were the catalyst to his ascent, this is a new era for Baby Keemas The Melodic Blue looks to lift the PGLang protégé to unimaginable heights.
