Bandmanrill shuts down the Jersey Shore with new single ‘Real Hips’

Earlier this summer, Newark’s Bandmanrill made headlines for the overwhelming turnout to his music video shoot that ended with riot police and smoke bombs. This week, he finally dropped the video for his latest single “Real Hips” (Aug. 5).

Over the last year, Bandmanrill has been making a strong case for Jersey’s hottest new artist. With his hugely original approach to rap and a signature sound that incorporates the infectious Jersey Club sound of his home state, the fiercely independent Bandman has sparked a new youth-driven wave unlike anything the Garden State has seen before – as evidenced by the impressive turnout and chaotic scene at the “Real Hips” music video.

For those yet to tap in with Jersey’s newest rising star, “Real Hips” is the perfect introduction to Bandmanrill’s charismatic, high-energy delivery almost always backed by sample-heavy, Jersey Club-infused production tailor-made for the dancefloor — this time produced by DJ Bake & KilSoSouth.

In addition to the addicting, double-time beat, the single’s title begs listeners to move their hips. The song itself even gives instructions with Bandman’s refrain Put my hands on your hips. When I dip, you dip” — accompanied by countless examples of the energetic signature dance moves born out of the sweaty clubs of New Jersey throughout the Respective Collective-shot video.

In a music landscape that is overly serious, Bandmanrill is bringing the fun back to East Coast hip-hop. He’s been on an upward trajectory ever since first making a splash with “Heartbroken” back in March 2021 — well before Drake or Beyoncé jumped on the dance-music trend. Remaining consistent with successful follow-up hits like “I Am Newark,” “Bullet,” “MR.DONTCUFFTHAT” and most recently “Jiggy In Jersey” — a perfectly paired collab with popular Bronx Drill artist, Sha EKBandmanrill’s budding star power continues get more undeniable with each passing release.

Simply put, the New Jersey native is putting on for the Garden State like few others as he continues to export its very particular regional sound to the masses.
