Belly drops new album ‘See You Next Wednesday’

Seasoned XO rapper releases third studio album.

At midnight on Aug. 27, Canada’s own Belly blessed the world with his latest album See You Next Wednesday.

With a runtime of just over 40 minutes, the 15 track project contains a stacked list of features such as The Weeknd, Young Thug, Lil Uzi Vert and several more of rap’s most relevant stars.

For as long as Belly has been involved in the game, this is only his third studio album, not including his litany of mixtapes. Check out See You Next Wednesday by Belly below.

Belly has been in the game longer than most. Starting his career in the mid-2000s, adjacent to famed voice in hip-hop DJ Drama and legendary rappers like Kurupt, Belly released his first studio album The Revolution in 2007.

Fast forward almost 15 years, several mixtapes and a few albums later, Belly’s third album is now a upon us.

Belly announced on Aug. 17 that his album SEE YOU NEXT WEDNESDAY would drop on Aug. 27. The Palestinian rapper, who now resides in Canada, has a loaded feature roster for the project, including his XO label mates The Weeknd and Nav, as well as Lil Uzi Vert at RocNation, which Belly is also signed to. The tracklist announcement came with a snippet of the album’s sixth song “Flowers.”

There were four lead singles for the album released prior, with “Money On The Table” with grimy Griselda rapper Benny The Butcher and “IYKYK” being the first two, both released on April 7. Next came “Zero Love” featuring Moneybagg Yo, dropped in the first week of June.

The most recent single “Better Believe” featuring The Weeknd and Young Thug released on July 22. While The Weeknd handles the elegant hook on the track, Belly and Thug both equally impress on the verses, as Belly utilizes fun wordplay and calls out rappers who lie to impress.

My mind is doin’ backflips, gymnastics

All my albums classic

All these fake rappers, they stay cappin’ ’bout a whole lot of shit that ain’t happen

Middle finger, plus thumb, ’cause I stay snappin’

Belly has not released a project since his 2018 album IMMIGRANT, but with four great singles under his belt, he developed solid momentum heading into his third studio album SEE YOU NEXT WEDNESDAY.
